Critical Reflection Page #4 In one part of Nystroms I read a statement that said, “It is convenient and good [for] the Scripture to be read [by] all sorts and kinds of people, and in the vulgar tongue.” (N271) I agree with this quote. I think that it is good for people to disagree with the scripture because it encourages those who believe in it to stand up for what it says. I did this when I read in Nystroms that Crammer said, “As for the pope, I refuse him, as Christ’s enemy, and antichrist, with all his false doctrine.” (N272) This gave me reason to stand up for my Catholic faith which I enjoy doing. Just as a president is the leader of the nation the pope represents “the Bishop of Rome and head of the Roman Catholic Church on earth.” 1 (CB) He is not a God that we pray for just a leader that we look to for guidance. When Pope Paul the second died a friend of mine said sarcastically, “Sorry your God died.” This made me very upset but at the same time I became more fervent toward my religion and
