I. Introduction A. One of the aims of this project is to develop a set of indicators that will help us come up with ethical recommendations based on the interests and responsibilities of the stakeholders in the case study. 1. Ms. Rodriguez is the consumer / victim that ordered the product from 2. She receives a pair of counterfeit eyewear and does not receive the contact lenses order. 3. Ms. Rodriguez is confronted by Vitaly Borker, who is the owner of DecorMyEyes. 4. He became aggressively inappropriate with Ms. Rodriguez. 5. She threatened to dispute the charge. 6. When Ms. Rodriguez reports the issue to her credit card company, she encounters issues. II. Legal Analysis A. There are many laws from the textbook that apply to this case. 1. Buyer Beware a) The “buyer beware” is a law that is related a scenario where the buy has done their due diligence of inspecting and accepting a product for purchase. b) All of the risk is transferred to the buyer, with no promises attached at point of sale. 2. Civil Actions for Product Safety_Contract a) These laws are design to assure the consumer that they will be protected under the premise of their expectations. b) The UCC, an American law of contracts, supports the basic law governing the sale of goods and services. 3. There are laws from the text that do not apply to the actions in this case. B. Government Regulation of Product Safety_Independent Agencies 1. The complaint with Ms. Rodriguez and DecorMyEyes is not a complaint regarding food items and safety.
