ASSESSMENT REQUIREMENTS IN THIS COURSEYour mark for MATH1013 will be computed according to your workshop participation,workshop quizzes, MATLAB quizzes, assignments and exams:●Workshop quizzes, 8%●Workshop in-class participation, 2%●Online MATLAB Grader quizzes, 8%●MATLAB Grader workbook, 2%[Workbook containing your MATLAB Grader solutions to be shown to yourdemonstrator in either your Week 11 or Week 12 workshop.]●Assignments, 10% (two assignments of equal weight)●Mid-semester Exam 20%●Final Exam, 50%To pass the course you also need to score at least 35% ineachof the calculus and linearalgebra sections of the final exam (i.e., if the maximum mark is 50 for each section, youneed to score at least 17.5 out of 50 for each section). If your total assessment marks add toa passing mark (50 or above), but you do not satisfy one or both of these 35% conditions,you will be offered a supplementary examination. If you then satisfy this condition, you willreceive a mark of 50PS. However, if you still fail to satisfy the 35% condition you will begiven an NCN.Workshops will start in week 2 of lectures. There will be 10 workshops in the course.From historical observations, we know that regular work throughout the semester willincrease the mark in the final exam and in the course. Students who don't keep up with workduring the semester and try to cram for the final exam generally do not do well.
