In other localities worship was carried out at an altar of earth erected for that god 2. “The Dragon Raises His Head” ( long taitou ) a. The Chinese word for “insect” is chong b. Chong includes things the word “insect” does not c. Snakes, worms, toads, lizards, and so forth are considered chong d. The dragon is the chief of the chong , and when he raises his head the other chong flee and hide e. This makes it safer for crops, orchards, etc.
