It plays a crucial role in the development of any nation, since agricultureproduces significant raw materials to industries and foods to every individual. Thus, agricultureis an important part in human life. It can be said that its main purpose is to meet the population’sneeds for food and provide raw materials for an industry.There are environmental problems that are related to agriculture. These are climatechange, deforestation, soil degradation, pollutants and waste. However, one of theseenvironmental issues that is often overlooked is the problem with pesticide. It has also a harmfulimpact on the environment as well to the agriculture. Pesticide is problem because since that it ismobile in the environment, it disrupts the balance of an ecosystem by harming not only pests butalso animals and humans. Therefore, people need to find effective ways to solve this type ofconcern. Some countries, especially Philippines mainly depend on the sector of agriculture. ForFilipinos, agriculture is not only defined as a sector of livelihood but also a way of living in thePhilippines. Agriculture contributes significant amount to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) ofa country. It is stated in an economy book that agricultural output is a component of the GrossDomestic Product of a country. Based on the Philippine Statistics Authority, the agricultureindustry which shared 81.7 percent to the total Agriculture, Hunting, Forestry and Fishing

The Gross Domestic Product (GDP)posted a year-on year growth of 6.4 percent in the fourth quarter of 2019, resulting in the 5.9percent full-year growth for 2019. This data shows that agriculture has an impact to the country’sGross Domestic Product (GDP). It is primarily the source of income and subsistence amongmany Filipinos. Furthermore, pesticides are widely used by farmers in the Philippines. Theyusually use the most common types of insecticides, the organophosphates, pyrethoids andcarbamates especially for the farmers in region 4-B (MIMAROPA). But little did they know thatthese pesticides are also harmful for the environment.
