Review for Exam I, ATOC 1050, Spring 2008 The exam is on Friday, Feb. 8th. It is worth 100 points. Questions are multiple choice and true/false. It is over chapters 1-4 and the radiation supplement. Please bring a #2 pencil as you will be using a scantron. Expect to read charts, maps, and diagrams as well as answer questions over material covered in class. You will NOT be asked questions over material that we didn’t cover in class. You can expect that some questions will be “easy” (if you have attended class and if you have studied) and some will be more difficult. Some call these “tricky” questions. This is a science and I expect you to KNOW the details. My advice to you is to read the questions carefully! Know the following concepts and relationships/definitions: Chapter 1: Definitions of weather and of climate; Atmosphere – general properties, composition of the atmosphere, layers of the atmosphere (troposphere, etc.) and thermal properties of each,; properties of the atmosphere (temperature, pressure, density, moisture, etc.) We discussed each of the atmospheric properties in more detail including instruments used to
