Chapter 7 1. Qin Shihuangdi centralized authority by being very brutal, yet very effective. He was also very careful when it came to assigning nobles. He also extended Chinese territory further to the south. The territory extended to modern day Hong Kong and norther Vietnam. The major project that he did was building the Great Wall of China. 2. Under the Qin dynasty, the Chinese government standardized coinage, weights, and measures. The Qin dynasty came to an end because Shihuangdi was very unpopular due to his high taxes and later died of mercury pill, which were ironically given to him to prolong his life. 3. Rather than being brutal, Wudi was a very peaceful ruler. Wudi saw Confucianism “as a vital supplement to formal measures on the government’s part” (Stearns 59). They declined because of the weakening of central control as well as invasions from central Asia. 4. Some of the key differences between the Win and Han dynasty were that the Qin stressed central authority, while the Han expanded the powers of the bureaucracy.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
