RUNNING HEAD: ASSIGNMENT 1 – COMPENSATION PRACTICE Compensation practice is an essential part of any company’s HR internal management. The purpose of compensation practice is to validate employees’ performance at work and match that performance accordingly with fair pay or monetary compensation. It also involves offering incentives and benefits (non monetary compensations) to employees among other things. Compensation practice evolves as so does the company. As the company grows so does the compensation practices and it also becomes more complex. For example if a company is relatively small with less than 20 employees it does not have the same compensation practices as a corporation of 2,000 employees. The bigger the company the more benefits and incentives it can afford to offer. 1) Briefly describe the company you researched, its compensation strategy, best practices they are applying, and compensation-related challenges they are facing.

Into the second quarter of 2016 alone, Google was already employing 57, 100 full time employees’ worldwide and despite their efforts to cut back on hiring for expense purpose, the headcount continues to grow. The reason everybody want to work for Google is because Google’s compensation strategy is by far more competitive than others companies when compared to other competing companies.
