Unformatted text preview: Arria Owlia apo223 Bio 206L Lloyd 50105 04/08/08 1:30 PM Lab 11 Plant Transpiration Lab Purpose: To observe the how changes in light and abscisic acid concentration affect rate of transpiration of a plant, and to observe the structures of the plant involved in water transport. Abstract: This lab had many portions involved. The first part involved placing eight (with leaves labeled A and B) plants under a low light level condition. We had one group measure the conductance of the plants leaves at these low light levels. We had another group measure the conductance at a high level of light (after the plants acclimated to the conditions for about twenty minutes). The next portion of lab involved us coating plants 1, 3, 5, and 7 with solution A. Then we coated plants 2, 4, 6, and 8 with solution B. We then measured the conductance of all the plants leaves again, and calculated the change in conductance. For the next portion, we put three coats of nail polish on a plant and then looked at calculated the change in conductance....
