COMM 125 Jan 28, 2008 Is the Internet a solution to the existing problems of media? Does Internet create a public sphere or is it more likely to replicate existing patterns? The Good: -Low barriers to entry- costs are negligent -Direct citizen participation- everyone can create a site The Bad: -Internet replicates corporate existing patterns that dominate media Internet has been promising in terms of making money.
