John Aliberti 3/8/08 Anthro 106 Response paper 4 The film I will be discussing is American Tongues , a movie that focuses on the accents of different people from different regions across America. In this film, since it focuses on America which is our own culture, it doesn’t take the time to teach us about our own culture, yet it is a movie that focuses directly on the way in which people talk, and how which region you come from directly affects this. As I said before, this video comes from the point of view of all different types of Americans from all different regions; it especially focuses on people from regions with more “extreme” accents. However, this video does not focus in on any cases like that of my own life. My mother is from Boston and has a very distinct Boston accent, and my father is from New York and also has a very distinct New York accent at times. This video did not focus in on anyone who shares my situation. I think I would have been very interesting to see
