Written Problems 2– Due 2014 April 8, Friday What these are: The written sets are to give you practice in solving problems that are more involved than the typical short Mastering Physics exercises. Also, they give you practice in the important skill of presenting a quantitative argument . This is a form of exposition, similar to what you learn in writing class, but obviously in a much different style. Rather than just scribbling equations, think of this as an illustrated narrative of how to solve the problem. Write words and sentences to guide the reader. My notes are full of examples of what I mean, such as the solution of the charged ring problem on page 2-4 of the notes. Instructions: Take the time to write legibly. Show your work! As noted above, this is in some sense a short writing assignment. Use 8 1 2 × 11 inch paper, and plenty of it . Make your diagrams big enough to see; spread out your exposition so it can be easily followed.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
