Alex Sandlin ENVS 1100 Drilling for Natural Gas in Colorado In August of 2007, Judge Marcia S. Krieger, a district court judge stated that Bureau of Land Management has been violating its’ privileges in regards to the gas development in Colorado. Recently, the South Shale Ridge, home to many endangered wildlife like the bald eagle have become the victims to the federal government through their gas development and drilling. Judge Krieger said that the drilling technique of the federal government has not taken into consideration how harmful they are being towards such wildlife and have ultimately breached the National Environmental Policy Act. This break is due to the fact that the Bureau of Land Management has not attempted to try alternate methods of drilling to prevent any harm to the environment that surrounds South Shale Ridge. Honestly, I completely agree with Judge Krieger’s allegations. The government always sees to be is some sort of violation of economical impacts until they are caught. The government
