Dr. Donnelly EDCI 3000 sect 1 Article 1 This article makes it very clear that your opinions on reading and how you value reading will affect a child. If one parent makes it a priority to read with her child, that child will most likely grow up with an appreciation for books. However, if another parent tells their child they are too busy to read for them, this child will probably not value reading. When adults read to children, they are teaching them how to properly read a book. The child will slowly start to pick up on everything that the adult does while reading the book. It will not be too long until the child has caught on to the proper way to read a book. Soon, the child will mimic everything that the adult would do while reading. It is important to make sure that the book you are reading to a child matches their cognitive development. A book that is funny to an adult might not be funny to a group of preschoolers. With that being said, it is necessary that the books picked for a child still challenge
