Introduction
Spatial organization explains “how different locations in the environment and
on the receptors are represented in the brain” (Goldstein, 2014).

The concept of spatial organization
“Spatial organization refers to the way stimuli at specific location in the environment are
represented by activity at specific locations in the nervous system” (Goldstein, E. B. 2014). For
example the picture above, when a person looks at an object the brain organizes the object
through the visual field. The process of the organization starts in the visual space and is
transformed and organized again in the eye.

How spatial organization
affects
visual perception
In this picture some people will see a vase, others will
see two faces, some people might see both right
away. Visual perception depends on the clues we
allow ourselves to see.
