Could I have your attention please? Now it is my turn to share my essay with you My topic is about legalizing organ trade. The aim of my talk is to give you some information about legalizing organ trade. I am going to cover three areas the background to it, merits of it and a conclusion. I will speak about five minutes, if you have some questions, I will be pleased to answer them. Organ trade is the trade involving inner human organs for organ transplantations. It is illegal in most places of the world. The sourse of organ comes from donation in general so organs are limited. Many patients die when waiting for organs. Also, lacking of donated organs results in the increasingly rampant black market, which leads to harmful problems. But another group of people like Bowman in 2011 said that the organ market cause unfair advantages for the powerful and rich. As for me. I strongly agree to legalize organ trade. And I will introduce the merits of it to you now.
The first merit is that Legalization of organ sale can probably provide more organs so that it offers more living opportunities for people in need. Donated organs are at great shortage. So many patients cannot get transplantation. In China, for instance, although there are more than 1 million patients who need organs, only 13,000 are able to get organs to perform operation per year. But, Iran, where kidney sale is allowed, does not have a shortage of available kidney (Bowman, 2011). And we can see that legalization is probably an effective way to offer more organs for transplantations.
