Lucas Vinze 9-24-07 ANTH 1013M Introduction This lab is an introduction to the concepts of evolution. It is a simple showcase of how  different events can cause the relative frequencies of different attributes over time.  In this  experiment the forces used to simulate are natural selection, migration, mutation, and genetic  drift.  Natural Selection is used to demonstrate those with favorable characteristics tend to  reproduce. Changing of the population pool can also be shown by migration, the transfer of  genetic information with another area.  New information is brought by mutation of the genetic  code. Genetic drift is simply the random chance that that the frequencies of shifting one way or  the other. With all of these factors together, the change in populations over time can be  demonstated.
