It is easy for someone to go through each day enjoying their morning coffee, afternoon sandwich and chips, and evening pizza slices without ever stopping to think about when and how these things originated. However, change is something that happens on a daily basis, and it can be seen all around. The significance of change is often not realized at the time it occurs. Rather, growth is acknowledged after years of change occurring little by little, then accredited to multiple happenings over a period of time. However, there are individual, significant events throughout history that can be assigned the responsibility of changing the world as a whole. One event would be the Columbian exchange. Beginning in the 16thcentury and lasting for approximately 350 years, the Columbian Exchange was the exchange of people, plants, and animals between earth’s eastern and western hemispheres. This exchange resulted in new goods and ideas being introduced all around the world.
