Study Guide for 4 th Exam First of all, know all of the little definitions for things on 6.1. These will be your multiple choice questions. As always, they will count for big points—so make sure you’re confident with them. Some examples would be: knowing what ‘antecedents’, ‘disjuncts’, or ‘conjunctions’ are. Literally everything listed in bold in the notes for 6.1 will be considered fair game. It’s just memorization; do not miss points here, please. Second of all, know how to translate normal English statements into symbolic form. An example of how this will work would look like this: Either I make the study guide or my students are angry with me. (Translation) M v A M = I make the study guide A = My students are angry I’ll ask you to do what I’ve done below the translation. That is, you’ll have to tell me what the simple statements stand for. Again, you need only look at 6.1 to get all of the information you’ll need. The most important things to remember are:
