1 Aaron Opel Professor Gross Film Appreciation 03 October 2016 Assignment One Part 1: (A) For my visit to IMDB.com, I chose Quentin Tarantino’s Nightcrawler (2014). The first review that I read was from Blu-Ray.com. Brian Orndorff writes “ They don’t make movies like “Nightcrawler” much these days”. Orndorff also states that “The magic touch of “Nightcrawler” is how comfortable the audience is allowed to get with Louis, as Gilroy develops an affinity for the character, only bringing out his bite at select times, to remind viewers that nothing is lovable about the man”. This is one of the reasons that I liked the film myself. Nightcrawler (2014) gets you to sympathise with a character you would otherwise see as a psychopath. (B) The second review of Nightcrawler (2014) that I read was from Jeff Nelson at DVDTalk.com . “Nightcrawler is so much more than a run-of-the-mill thriller. It's both a character study, as well as a look at our culture's amusement with crime and violence within our news reports,” he writes.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
