Yacoub 1 Peter Yacoub Mrs. Fisher CIM 1 9 March 2006 Technology has come a long way, from the typewriter to the laptop, from vinyl players to cassette players to CD players and now to small pocket-sized iPod’s. A common thing technology tends to do is by making an object less “messy,” that is by making the object easier to use and in some cases more portable. Bluetooth technology is basically a technology that eliminates the use of wires. There are many Bluetooth devices now; the most common device is the wireless cell phone earpieces. Other Bluetooth devices are usually home devices, for example, the wireless mouse, keyboard, printer, and transfers from cameras to computers. Bluetooth was created in 1998 by Sony Ericsson whose goal that year was creating a short-range technology that can replace wires and cables. Bluetooth is a low cost, low power technology that connects to other Bluetooth devices that is within its range.
