2 Part 1: System Components Introduction - Farida Ismaili Client Registration System Component- ADT A critical component of any health information system (HIS) is a system for client  registration.  These systems facilitate the protected sharing of patient information.  An example  of patient information sharing is from the admission’s department to the physician’s office.  Such a system is often referred to as admission/discharge/transfer (ADT) systems and were some of  the first systems to be automated in healthcare.  An example of an ADT system that would fulfill the needs for this scenario is Epic Prelude.  According to Newman (2016), it describes the  Prelude functions as “ ADT is a critical part of the entire organization’s system because this is where the key information and status of all patients is managed. The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
