1.What are some factors that led to China's going from having the world's largest economy to being overtaken as a superpower by the West in the 19th and 20th centuries? Some of the factors that led to China being overtaken were their refusal of Macartney’s offer to trade, china keeping to themselves, the first opium war, Japan rising and the revolution in China.2.How does the saying "Sweep the snow from your own house, don't worry about the frost on yourneighbor's roof" describe China through its history? It seems like to me that China liked to keep to itself and didn’t show much interest in what was happening in other countries throughout the world.
