Well in the book she was made out to be not a pretty and a little bigger or so that’s what I got, but in the movie hally berry played her and she’s really pretty It seemed that in the book there was a lot more narrative and that it was more important, but in the movie there wasn’t as much and didn’t seem as important. In the book phoebe defense her when she comes back into town then goes and sees her, but in the movie the gossiping women tell her to go. In the movie she jumps in the water after she finds out that her grandma is going to have her married off to a guy she doesn’t want to marry then when her grandma calls her and asks what’s she’s doing she says watching god. In the book they tend to talk a lot more slang vernacular but in the movie they talk more normal with a tiny bit southern The guy she marries first in the movies won’t let her go to town and makes her work, but in the book he beats her as well When she meet Joe Starks in the book she goes and pumps water harder to get his
