Art Pierre Archambault Environmental Sound In his essay addressing the importance of environmental sound matter, Francisco Lopez raises many interesting points. For example, I have never before recognized the false attributions of source that we give certain familiar and everyday sounds. He offered the example of the sound which we commonly misrepresent as belonging to the wind . The sound of the wind is in fact the sound of the leaves, trees or any other surrounding environment. I never before realized the process of making nature recordings for commercial sale. I assumed that the process was far more akin to Lopez’ process of capturing the environment. I think that if you are trying to capture and present something as natural, there should be little to no additional editing or overdubbing in the case of sound.
