Brockton High School did an amazing job becoming a turnaround school. I was very impressed with the way that they became a turnaround school. I was impressed because no one had to come in and tell them how to turn their school around plus no one had to tell them that they needed to change due to their students failing they saw this necessary implementation on their own. They created this change simply by creating an empowering team called the “Reconstruction Committee.” Through this committee the school was able to pinpoint its struggling area(s) and figure out a way to fix them by implanting literacy skills that could be used in all classes no matter the subject. “Also, each of these skills needed to be applicable in every content area so that any teacher, no matter what the class if they mastered these skills” (Blankstein, Noguera, Kelly, & Tutu, 2015, p. 35). The leadership principle I believe that took the lead in defining the success of their work as a school was the work of the teachers. The teachers took the lead in reconstructing their
