Chapter 9 Highlights 1) B to B marketing (business to business) – activities and transactions involving organizations . 2) Dell emphasizes b to b marketing to utilize their technology for speeding up business processes. For example, they developed a computer system for the Federal Home Loan Bank to make complex financial calculations in a short time frame. In addition they developed a highly interactive website that allowed the bank to process more loans in a shorter time frame. Basically, they just gave the Federal Home Loan Bank better computer technology to run their business. 3) American Greetings is a web based greeting card company. Although it ultimately deals with consumers it has thousands of retailers that stock its cards. They give their data to retailers, set up in store displays, help computerize transactions and run special promotions for stores. Basically, they just give their retailers a bunch of stuff to help them sell more cards. 4)
