Elisa Giordano Due: October 4, 2006 Lab # 3 Evaluating the Equilibrium Constant for the Reaction of Iron (III) Ion with Thiocyanate Ion INTRODUCTION The main purpose of this lab is to study the equilibrium of a reaction. When a reaction is in a state of equilibrium, the rate at which the reaction occurs is the same when the reaction is reversible. Using the Beer’s Law Plot to graph absorbance vs. concentration, as well as many other equations, this lab was an aid in analyzing standard solutions and equilibrium mixtures.
