Elisa Giordano Due: 11/15/06 Lab #7 Estimating the Solubility Product Constant of Strontium Iodate Using Microscale Techniques INTRODUCTION The purpose of this lab was to use techniques to obtain solubility data in order to estimate the K sp of strontium iodate, Sr(IO 3 ) 2 . A centrifuge was used to separate the supernatant liquid from the precipitate. Finally, calculations were made to compare the accepted K sp and estimated K sp of strontium iodate.
