From last lecture o Everything goes to the frontal cortex (neurons and whatnot) o We cannot experience the raw data, we cannot make sense of what is --- us directly o We can only experience interactions with other people by converting raw data into concepts and words IE, we learn the word chalk and what it stands for Temple Grandin: Pain and suffering are different things Animals are resistant to pain and mask pain Question: What are we doing here? (literally idk) Because we know our education is a gateway to jobs and a secure future… This is the accepted format of learning Minimizing distractions (ie this room has no windows like how you put blinders on a horse) There has to be some sort of foundation upon which to enhance our learning techniques (skills and whatnot…) Overconfidence – how did we evolve into thinking that verbal thinking is what sets us apart from animals and that it is the optimal way to think

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
