Hannan Merritt Snow White Reader Reaction 8/27/07 I much prefer the Brothers Grimm version of Snow White because I feel that the concepts and themes are more fully fleshed out. The Disney version has been shortened and reimaginined through Disney’s eyes. The Brothers Grimm while definetely more violent also more clearly explain the moral values of kindness and humility that Snow White embodies.

Unformatted text preview: In contrast to Snow White the Stepmother/Queen is more evil and more consumed by jealousy and envy in the Brothers Grimm. Just like Cinderella I think that the Disneyversion could possibly be used to introduce these ideas to younger children that might not be able to handle the intensity of the Brothers Grimm version....
