Unformatted text preview: Allison McGee Ms. Beam Intro to Christianity March 16, 2008 Church Visitation Project I grew up in the same church that my mother did a Southern Baptist church. My father grew up Episcopalian and became Baptist, when he married my mother. One of my great-uncles is an Episcopal Priest and when we visit him, we attend his church. We have not been in a few years, until this January when we visited him. He is the Priest of Christ Episcopal Church in Elizabeth City, NC. The church is very quiet as you enter with just the organ playing, unlike my church were everyone is chatting. The service starts with the Acolytes walk down the aisle with the Cross, candles and the Priest carries the Bible. As they pass by your pew, you bow your head to the cross. They proceed to the front of the church and the candle and Cross are placed by the communion table. The Priest then greets the church and begins with a word of scripture. The organ then begins to play a hymn and the congregation sings along. The Hymn that was sung was much more solemn and slower congregation sings along....
