Questionnaires can be used to establish associations. Advantages of questionnaires are that theyare a quick method of research. Questionnaires are inexpensive ways to cover large geographicalareas. Large amounts of data can be processed and analyzed quickly. You can target a large number of respondents and the respondents are offered time to consider the questions (compared to a face-to-face interview) and there is low danger of interview bias. Questionnaires offer disadvantages also; you may get a low response rate and not get many returned. They are impersonal; therefore questions cannot be explained to respondents and can be misinterpreted. Answers from questionnaires cannot be put in any real world context and the likelihood of socially desirable responses to certain questions can occur. You can’t really monitor whether the respondent takes the questionnaire seriously and just fills in any answer or even lies. Panel studies are a form of longitudinal studies. They can be high in validity and great for picking up long-term changes. The more data you collect over a longer period of time allows for better and more concise results which are helpful in determining patterns. It is possible to learn more
