#10 -  from the story, there was a python appear in the village. Some people thought  that this python is an incarnation of an ancestor. A group of educated people in  the community, when the python showed up, make an argument to the local  government that there should be a snake part to stimulate the economic of the  community. Other people, rejected this idea is going to bring bad things to the  village, along with other problems, such as prostitution. Some say, the python is  the incarnation of the devil so we should set the python on fire. The villager say,  if you burn it on fire, we are going to get you. This became an issue and known  world-wide. Visitors go to the village around the world.  o A animal scientist states that this python is just a snake. It’s neither an  ancestor nor devil.  - Multi-sided debate around people.  o Relation to globalization: all people who participated in this debate are all  Luo (an ethnic group).   o The event is local, but people are always responding to it that is global  o Today is hard to identify a local culture, a cultural belief/culture, that has  not been influenced by globalization. people in the community aware that  there’s an outer world around them.
