The development of critical thinking - William Perry – educational theorist o “forms of intellectual and ethical development” o Proposed 5 stages (not linear, rather flexible and fluent) - Knowledge v.s. Wisdom o Knowledge can be existing as material, ie. Facts on a hard drive o Wisdom is human, not necessary depend on content, but rather what human think. William Perry’s 5 stages - I. Dualism o Aka “the garden of eden” o Everything is known o Conformity and obedience o Authorities are infalliible - II. Partial relativism o Characterized by a “crack” on the dualism. (enlightenment) o Most things are right/wrong, few things are questionable. o
