Communication apprehension- the fear of communication situations, can occur in the actual communication situation and it can occur while you are simply thinking about an upcoming communication event B. Taking Control of Your Presentation 1. Prepare and practice your speech 2. Prepare a thorough outline, even a key word outline 3. Careful audience analysis 4. Plan introduction more carefully than the rest of your speech C. Learning to Relax D. Visualizing a Positive Outcome 1. Visualization- a technique used to control communication apprehension by replacing negative thoughts and image with positive ones II. Types of Delivery A. Using a Manuscript 1. Manuscript speaking- delivering a speech from a script written out word for word
