Effects of violent video games on children behavior
Thesis Statement: Children and adolescents in the current society can access a variety of
electronic media including iPads, computers, and cell phones in addition to violent video games.
Playing violent video affects children behaviors because they imitate the character actions,
especially those whom they identify with. Additionally, violent video requires active
participation rather than passive observation and are characterized by a great deal of repetition.
Therefore, if the video game is violent, the child practices how to become violent. Video games
are also founded on a reward system and people are often rewarded for violent behaviors.
However, playing video games is neither bad nor good. Despite the fact that they increase
aggressiveness among children, it also boosts computer literacy among children and permit
children to be helpful and empathetic in their lives.
