Merkley 2Paper 1: Principals of Human Nature and Business in regards to “Faust”In “Faust”, by Van Goethe, many principals of human nature and business are explored by a man named Faust which is constantly in the center of a battle of good and evil, wants and needs, and desires of one versus the many. However, these problems are not just his but are shared by many entrepreneurs and regular people trying to get ahead in life. In the center of theseconflicts two key ideals come into play, morals, both god and bad, and the concept that what is taken from nature will be taken back by it. In “Faust”, Van Goethe explores the idea of the wants of man through Faust’s business ventures. On page 72 Faust says "My Great estate's not pure" (Goethe 72). Faust hungers for more, his toils have already produced fruit beyond his wildest dreams but still he years for more.
