Database Planning This phase involves activities that promote the achievement the of the database system development lifecycle. This phase entails basically the definition of the following items of the DB system Database aims Database purpose Database supported tasks Database resources Systems Definition In this phase, description of the scope and boundaries of the database application is derived. This includes Interlinking with other information systems Present and future purpose of the system The current and future users of the system

User views are also define in this phase, especially the expected behavior of the system under different environments. Requirements Collection and Analysis Involves collection and analysis of requirements about the system to be served by the database, such as Data generated or used by the system How the data is generated by the system How the data is used by the system Database Design It’s the fourth step. The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
