People That Rock Exam 3 Chas chandler- Record producer and one of the original members of the british band, The Animals. He signed Jimi Hendrix to a management contract, and helped form the jimi Hendrix experience. Arthur Rimbaud- A symbolist poet that inspired lyrics from Van Morrison and David Bowie. Allan Ginsberg- A poet that has the idea that life is a passageway to the infinite. He was an influence on Morrison and the Doors. Aldous Huxley- English author who wrote The Doors of Perception. The book deals with the influences of mind-expanding drugs. The Doors name was taken from his book. Blood, Sweat and Tears- Formed in 1968 by session multi-instrumentalist Al Kooper and New York studio musicians Randy Brecker (trumpet) and Bobby Colomby (drums), Bs&T recorded their first album Child is Father to the Man . David Clayton-Thomas took over Kooper’s job as lead singer and the band started playing more pop oriented songs. The second album opens and closes with French classical music, thereby incorporating jazz,
