The theory of deep impact consists of astronauts going to a comet and blowing it up, if a comet would come earth’s way. 2. Mizar and Alocor are real stars. 3. The Orion type engine the president mentions in the movie, is a real idea, blowing up comets with nuclear missiles. 4. When the comet goes near, it slides through silently because space is a vacuum therefore there is no sound. 5. A wall of water rises up after the comet hits the Earth. 6. The sound of water after the comet hits Earth is moving faster than the water itself. 7. There was a tsunami after the comet hit earth. 8. There were mudflows after the comet hit the earth. 9. The Earth turned bright after the astronauts blew up the comet. 10. From the comet other natural disasters occurred. Inaccuracies 1. In the beginning of the movie they are using a flashlight which ruins the night vision at night.
