Writer’s considered themselves to be “voices of a nation taking stock of its place in the world in a new century. 2. World War I began August 1914. 3. The Georgian period of literature was signified by Edward Marsh gathering poetry for his popular series of five anthologies called Georgian Poetry. 4. The period from 1914 to 1939 was called the quarter century. 5. Pound’s new slogan was “Make It New.” The Foundation of Modern Skepticism 6. Shifts occurred in the thoughts of historical progress and of social unity. 7. Nietzsche described his lifelong project as the “revaluation of all values.” 8. The new psychology was based on Freud’s The Interpretation of Dreams, and, Psychology of Everyday Life, which highlighted the influence of the unconscious mind, and past on our lives. 9. Einstein’s Special Theory of Relativity spurred the revolution in physics.
