THE IMPACT OF DIVERSITY3AbstractThis paper focuses its efforts on assessing the impact that diversity levies upon today’s workforce with respect to performance. Noting that this dynamic is a latent construct and that there is not a clearly defined path to measure its finding in an empirical sense, this research will use other peer-reviewed literature works to provide the context and posturing for the evaluation. This work, by its end, will have captured the many variations of diversity, such as gender diversity, age diversity, cultural diversity, and educational diversity without straying away from the true core focus of gauging its impact on organizational performance. This study is limited to the data collected from an individual company of moderate size with many interconnecting departments. Following in the fashion of Lopez-Fernandez & Sanchez-Gardey (2010), quantitative analysis was able to capture the descriptive characteristics in a manner that both answers the objective and provides relevant information for future use. The result shows that workplace diversity plays a significant role in an employee’s performance and efforts. For this reason, great attention should be paid to the management and improvement of workplace diversity initiatives for organizations going forward as the study was able to explain a great deal of the variance that is captured in the performance variable.
