Russian Fairytale Summary Burenushka, The Little Red Cow A young girl is sent away by her stepmother and is still able to sleep. The stepmother is confused and sends her own daughters to see. They realize she has a cow that is helping her to stay alive and the stepmother has it killed. The young girl keeps a small piece of it and plants it. The plant becomes full of berries and birds. A prince wishes to marry and says that the girl who can pick the most berries will be his new wife. The young girl picks many more than her stepsisters, who are attacked by the birds on the plant and the prince takes her as his wife. Later her old family still tried to trick her and her new husband, but the prince shot them and they lived happily ever after. I had wished there were more details about each person so that it would have been easier to distinguish each character. The Maiden Tsar There was a merchant whose wife died and only his son and he were left. Eventually he remarried and Ivan, his son, grew to a handsome man.
