Evaluation & Improvement of Water & Sanitation (WASH) program design &Implementation in Afghanistan’s Refugee Camps on the Borders of Iran & PakistanIntroduction/Abstract:A. This work will include an overview of what WASH programs are and why peopleshould care about the available resources of individuals who are forced to live intemporary foreign locationsB. Refugee camps are not designed to be permanent entities and therefore the conditionsof sanitation and hygiene are not designed to sustain an individual for a long period oftime. Traditional methods of water storage, sanitation, and health promotion are notacceptable to provide sustainable resources for a ‘temporary’ population.C. Build case through logic: According to the provisions that were laid out in thefourth Geneva Convention, “civilians are to be protected from, torture, murder, orbrutality, and from discrimination on the basis of race, nationality, religion, or politicalopinion.”1This also means that refugees that are displaced from their native lands areexpected to receive aid, either foreign or domestic to satisfy the needs of the population.D. Topic sentence/thesis statement: Temporarily displaced people inhabit areas knownas refugee camps that are located on the borders of Afghanistan. These camps areintentionally meant to be temporary entities, though there is still the basic need fornecessities like sanitation, water for washing and consumption, and reliable food sourcesto satisfy those that seek refuge away from their homes.1.First main point (strongest) Temporarily displaced populations like the refugees of themiddle east are entitled to the basic of necessities like sanitary water, food, and wastesources so that the transmission of communicable diseases may be stopped before it starts.
