THEMATIC REVIEWSingh, S., & Rana R made a study on the consumer perception of digital payment modes andfound that consumer perception of digital payment has a significant and positive impact on theadoption of digital payment. Thisfacilitated ease of transfer of money in rural areas, which was not touched earlier by the digitalpayment method. (Kamatchi Eswaran, 2019).M Somasundaram in his study concluded that the digital payment system should bestrengthened to improve the safety and security of financial transactions of consumers and itmust be simplified and make user-friendly.(Dr.M. Somasundaram, 2020). M Abraham in his study remarked that Internet connectivityissues and payment restrictions for huge amounts are the common problems faced in digitalpayments.(Dr.SwatiKulkarni,Dr.AparnaJVarma, 2021)attemptedtoidentifythethinkingofconsumers withrespecttoonline payments andthesafetyofthesepayments.Thisstudyaimstounderstandthefrequencyofdigital paymentsandfactorsaffectingorchallengesfaced by consumers while using digital payment modes that may affect consumer perception.The researchers also suggested that the study is exploratory in nature and relies onliteraturereviewsandsecondaryinformation for the findings. They also noted that there arevariousdrawbacksto thestudy, asit isnot an in-depthstudy,isnotexhaustiveintermsofthe literature, and it does not use any quantitative data. The paper identifies the mainthrust areas in literature and projects them.(Singh,Shamsher, Rana,2017)analyzed customer perception and the impact ofdemographic factors on the adoption of a digitalmodeofpayment.Forthestudy,theycollectedprimarydatafrom150respondentsfromdifferent partsofDelhi.Theyfoundthat demographicfactors,excepteducation,donothavemuchimpactontheadoptionofdigital payments. ANOVA computation supportedthis finding as there was no significantdifference perceived by the respondents on thebasisofgender,age,profession,andannual income.
