Justin Anderson Dr. Danny Barnes CSC 382 September 15, 2016 1. Difference between analog and digital technology. Define and discuss. (20 points) Analog technology records and transmits data linearly. Digital technology uses the binary system to compute all calculations. a. When were these technologies developed? Analog technology was developed in the 1940s. [Car06] Digital technology was developed as early as 1679 when the binary system was developed. [Pho14] b. Where are they used? Analog technology is used in watches, speedometers, radios that use hands and knobs to determine and make sense of features. Digital technology also is used in watches and new speedometers. However, numbers represent the speed and time. c. Compare the quality of the communication using the technologies. Digital technology is totally dominating analog technology; this fact is very apparent in the replacement of a lot of analog technology.
