Justin Trahan HED 385 December 9, 2007 Resistance training is used by almost all athletes, competitive or recreational for training and or conditioning. There are many who think they are just training to gain muscle for their sport because it is the result that we notice the most because we can see the change in our appearance in that we see the growth and development of our muscles. Most people are not aware of the many benefits we gain from resistance training There are many benefits we can achieve from resistance training beginning with gaining an edge towards athletic performance, and even more importantly the opportunity to better your ability of injury prevention. Improvements in muscle strength, and power are two benefits to gain from resistance training that give us the advantage and help increase our level of sports performance and reduce the risk for musculoskeletal injuries, and even reduce the severity of such injuries.
