Abnormal Psychology: The scientific study of abnormal behavior in order to describe, predict, explain, and change abnormal patterns of functioning. What exactly is psychological abnormality? It possesses these general tendencies: Deviance (usually when compared to social/cultural norms) Distress (not always) Dysfunction (interferes with daily functioning)
