ECO – 201 Recession One of the worst possible economic situations that could happen right now is a recession. A recession is the period of a business cycle during which total production and total employment are decreasing (Hubbard, O’Brien, 2006). However, all the signs are similarities with the economy going into recession very soon. For example, the stock market is just losing money every day. In addition, a bank suffers its days of reckoning with bad mortgages. Most American consumers are so loaded with debts they cannot even but an electronic like a plasma TV or a Playstation 3. In my opinion, we will be going into a recession very soon unless the government does something about it but they have done nothing so far, regarding the problem what makes anyone think they will. Although in an article I read in The New York Times this past week states that, “The Federal Reserve last week said it expected the economy to grow 1.6 percent to 2.6 percent next year, a stark contrast from the 3.9 percent registered in the most
